What do Ewan McGregor, lipstick and me have in common?

A Poem

Once upon a time many moons ago (1993 to be precise) Ewan McGregor was not quite the worldwide super star that he is today. He was a fairly unknown actor who first came to my attention in Dennis Potter's 'Lipstick on your collar'. This series was set in the 1950's and Ewan played an amorous young office stud, who had many lustful (musical style) visions of a married woman he knew.




I fell in love with this office romeo and his quirky character and penned a poem about it and forwarded it to the Tv studio not really expecting it to reach Ewan but hoping that it would. To my amazement it did!

Ewan replied personally after a short break, with a hand written letter addressed to me and enclosed with it a signed photograph of himself.



I was chuffed to bits and who knew then that Ewan McGregor was going to be the huge success in film, drama and documentary ( and books) that he is today.
